White beads that “magically” change colour when they are exposed to UV radiation.
The beads contain pigment that give them colour when exposed to UV radiation from the sun or from a UV lamp. Use the beads to detect the invisible radiation in sunlight and experiment with radiation protection. The beads can, for example, be placed under a pair of sunglasses, protected with an item of clothing, or perhaps placed in a plastic bag coated with sunscreen. Suggestions for experiments in English are included.
When the UV radiation disappears, the beads return to white and can be used again and again.
