When you want to control motors from your micro:bit, motor:bit is the perfect accessory.
It is easy to program the micro:bit to control motors. However, motors often need more current than a micro:bit can supply. A motor:bit solves this.
Micro:bit, motors (or other components) and an external power source can be connected to motor:bit. Motor:bit then supplies all parts with current and also conveys signals between micro:bit and connected components.
Motor:bit has, among other things, two separate motor outputs (P1 and P2), each of which can supply up to 1.2 A.
Functions:
Connection for micro:bit (micro:bit not included).
Screw connection for DC motors. Max 1.2 A each.
8 GVS ports 3.3 V.
6 GVS ports with selectable 3.3 or 5 V.
Connection for 6–9 V external power source.
Buzzer.
