This set of 10 diffraction gratings are mounted on stiff cardboard and have printed sample spectra. This allows students to identify the gas in a spectral tube by comparing the spectral lines they see through the grating to the printed spectral chart. The printed spectra include hydrogen, helium, mercury, sodium, and neon.

The cards are easy to hold and the printing encourages students to orient the grating in the proper direction to see the spectrum (unlike the traditional square slide).

The gratings have 1000 lines/mm.
