Fit one or more motors on your building kit and control them with a micro:bit.
If you are building a model car, you may want to fit one or more motors, e.g. one on each rear wheel. The motors can be controlled individually with signals from a micro:bit, forwards or reverse and with different speeds. Ready-to-use programming blocks for controlling motors can be found at makecode.microbit.org.
Micro:bit v2 delivers sufficient current to operate one or two motors. If several motors are to be operated, an external voltage source should be connected.
A convenient way of connecting motors to micro:bit is to use a sensor:bit (art. no. 11927).
Operating voltage: 3.0–5.5 V.
Rotation speed: Max ≈140 rpm, unloaded at 5.5 V.
Control of rotation speed: Pulse Width Modulation, PWM. 3V from micro:bit.
Material: Plastic.
Dimensions: 32x12x27 mm.
Accessories: 3 different adapters that are screwed onto the motor shaft.
