Turn your SL-700 into a dark field microscope without complicated replacement of the condenser - simply insert the dark field slide just above the condenser.
You need a dark background to bring out lighter, almost transparent elements of any object. The dark field slide has a circular disc which blocks the light which would otherwise have gone directly into the lens - so making the image dark. Light passing beside the circular disc is refracted in the lens and illuminates the sample from the "sides". Some of that light is then diffused when it strikes the sample and enters the lens. You then see an image of the object against a dark background.
This dark field slide is suitable for use when examining blood and other bodily fluids, single-cell organisms, cells and fibres, for example.
