The gauge sensor is held against an object and then emits ultrasound. When the sound has bounced off the "back" of the object and returned to the sensor, the thickness of the object is calculated. For the calculation to be correct, you have to input the sound velocity of the object you are measuring. This device is easy to set and the manual contains a table with the sound velocities of various materials.
Measuring range: 1,2 - 225 mm (steel). Showing 0.1 mm.
