Build, for example, a simple analogue thermometer by fitting a pointer on the motor shaft. Then, let micro:bit record the air temperature and steer the pointer to a specific angle.
From a micro:bit, the servo motor's shaft can be steered to any angle in the range 0–180°. For example, use the micro:bit's temperature sensor to build an analogue thermometer or use the micro:bit's built-in gyro to control the servo to stabilise a suspension mounting. Only your imagination sets the limits...
Ready-to-use programming blocks for controlling servo motors can be found at makecode.microbit.org.
Micro:bit v2 delivers sufficient current to operate one or two motors. If several motors are to be operated, an external voltage source should be connected.
A convenient way of connecting motors to micro:bit is to use a sensor:bit (art. no. 11927).
Operating voltage: 3.0–5.5 V.
Rotation angle: 0–180°.
Material: Plastic.
Dimensions: 32x12x27 mm.
Accessories: 3 different adapters that are screwed onto the motor shaft.
