Classic mechanics with speed, angle, height, range and time of flight. Where did the ball land – did it agree with your calculations?
The ball that is fired exhibits parabolic motion. The angle of launch of the ball and the distance to the impact point can be used for example to calculate the launch velocity, maximum height and angle of impact of the ball. Then adjust the launcher angle and calculate the new impact point. Test – did it agree with the calculations? The magnetic piston enables the ball to be fired downwards, to a direction of -45°.
Tip: Mount a photogate at the muzzle to measure the launch speed of the ball. Add a landing detector on the floor to measure the time of flight between photogate and landing.
Functions: Adjustable angle with built-in goniometer.
Three selectable launch speeds.
Launch angle: -45° to 90°.
Range at 45°: Approx. 0.5, 1 or 2 m.
Assembly: On stand rod or table using clamp.
Material: Metal.
Length: 18 cm.
Contents: Launcher with stand, 2 x 16 mm steel balls.
